NEW YORK STATE POLICE

Matthew S. Spunaugle, 19, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 5 p.m. Monday on Route 60, Ellicott. He will be in court later.

VERSAILLES - A 15-year-old youth was charged with third-degree identity theft at 4:30 p.m. Monday after an incident Oct. 31. The youth will be in court later.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

LAKEWOOD - Victor M. Cruz of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI for having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher at 9 a.m. Saturday after a two-car accident on Hunt Road, between Shadyside Road and Mall Boulevard. Police report Arthur L. Thorstenson of Jamestown was making a left turn onto Hunt Road from a driveway when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Cruz. Thorstenson was charged with failure to yield the right of way. Both will be in Busti Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE

Alese M. Kircher, 20, of 59 Elmwood Ave., Jamestown was charged with petit larceny Friday after Ellicott police were dispatched to Wegmans, 945 Fairmount Ave., for a reported shoplifting. Store employees had stopped a woman trying to leave the store without paying for $40.83 worth of merchandise. She will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

Devin Houghwot, 24, of 8 Curtis St., Jamestown was charged with petit larceny Saturday. Police report Houghwot took items from a co-worker's purse at a Falconer restaurant. Houghwot will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
