Bush Elementary School recently hosted a Thanksgiving celebration. The schoolwide event was organized by staff to do something special for their students and families. More than 150 people attended to eat a traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, mashed potatoes and desserts.
"I am not surprised that the Bush School staff went that extra mile," said Bush Elementary School Principal Dan Bracey. "We preach rigor and relevance and this is just one more opportunity to build the relationships that are critical in an educational setting to complete the 3Rs."
The dinner was possible due to many community donors: Farm Fresh Foods, Ecklof's Bakery, Stroehmann's Bakery, Wegmans, McDonald's, YMCA Camp Onyahsa, The Kulig Family, The Jacobson Family, The Sandstrom Family and Jamestown High School Honor Society. Staff brought in the majority of the desserts served at the feast and also cooked the turkeys and completed most of the prep work on Saturday including setting up the dining room.
