LITTLE VALLEY - Lori Pettit Reiman, Cattaraugus County district attorney, announced the following pleas and sentences in Cattaraugus County Court on Nov. 5:
Ryan D. Radar, 41, presently in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was sentenced as a predicate felon to three terms of two to four years in the state Department of Corrections, to be served consecutively, for his conviction of three counts of third-degree burglary, class D felonies. On March 16, 2012, in the town of Olean; March 22, 2012, in the town of Ischua and April 5, 2012, in the town of Coldspring, Radar, acting with another person, knowingly entered and remained unlawfully in a building at various locations with the intent to commit a crime.
Mackenzie L. Smith, 26, of Hinsdale was sentenced to three concurrent one-year terms in the Cattaraugus County Jail for his convictions of second-degree forgery , a class D felony; petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a class A misdemeanor. On June 9, in the city of Olean, Smith, with intent to defraud, deceive or injure another, used a credit card belonging to another person. On May 24, 2012, in the town of Carrollton, Smith stole property and on May 28, 2012, in the town of Hinsdale, Smith applied pressure to the throat or neck of another person.
Matthew A. Anderson, 29, of Olean was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony; unlawful growing of cannabis, a class A misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; and third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony. The first three counts occurred on May 18, 2012, in the city of Olean, when Anderson was allegedly unlawfully growing marijuana, possessed more than 8 ounces of marijuana and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance. The last count occurred on June 5, 2012, in the city of Olean, when Anderson stole property valued at more than $3,000. The case was adjourned for motions.
Jesse C. Bartlett Jr., 22, of Olean presently in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. On Aug. 30, 2012, in the city of Olean, Bartlett possessed a kung fu star when he had previously been convicted of a crime and he allegedly unlawfully possessed a controlled substance. The matter has been adjourned for motions
Douglas A. Farnham, 32, of Salamanca was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all class B felonies. The incidents occurred on March 2, 2011, in the city of Salamanca, when Farnham allegedly possessed and sold cocaine. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
Jason A. Rivera, 34, of Olean was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. The incident occurred Dec. 24, 2011, in Portville, when Rivera allegedly knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
Stephanie K. Currie, 34, of Olean presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging her with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all class B felonies. The indictment charges that on March 22, 2012, in the city of Olean, Currie and another person allegedly knowingly and unlawfully possessed and sold oxycodone. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
David J. Foster, 75, of Salamanca was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, class C felonies, and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class D felonies. The incidents occurred on Oct. 20, 2011, in the city of Salamanca, when Foster allegedly possessed and sold hydrocodone. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
Kyle S. King, 22, of Gowanda presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, entered a plea of guilty to third-degree burglary, a class D felony; and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, to satisfy a pending indictment. The incident occurred Jan. 12, 2012, in Persia, when King knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime and intentionally damaged property of another person. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
