Webelos Scouts Explore Audubon Society Grounds

November 18, 2012
The Post-Journal

The Webelos I den of Cub Scout Pack 126 from Mayville spent an afternoon at the Audubon Society recently. Jennifer Schlick, Audubon naturalist, guided the scouts on a nature walk, taught them about the flyways over the area, talked about indigenous species and helped all of the scouts earn their Naturalist Pin. The Webelos also learned about Liberty, the center's bald eagle, and toured her feeding room. A highlight of the afternoon was examining the remains of a bear. The scouts learned about the food chain, decomposition and followed the scout "leave no trace behind" policy.
