To the Readers' Forum:
I would like to thank all of the wonderful people of Jamestown for their outpouring of support for the benefit for Mathew MeKusker, which was held on Oct. 20. I want to especially thank The Post-Journal and Dusten Rader for the amazing article and picture on the front page. I know because of this wonderful press we had many more people at the benefit. We served dinner to over 680 people, had well over 100 baskets and made over $10,000. This was far beyond my wildest dreams when I began this effort. Many people who attended mentioned reading about the event in the newspaper.
We were especially thrilled when the ILS Veteran's Club on Fluvanna Avenue gave us the use of their facility at no cost. They helped us so much and truly could not have done more to make our event great.
The small business owners, as well as individuals, really came through in ''true Western New York style.'' The generosity of everyone was so overwhelming. The whole MeKusker family, as well as myself, want to thank all of you for making the benefit a resounding success.
