The Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown held their annual Halloween party recently for nearly 450 community children. The Community Foundation sponsored the event with a donation, while adult members at the club helped by making donations of candy. Juli Peterson, a club staff member, and her husband, Mark, donated the 135 pumpkins from their family farm. Nearly 60 teen volunteers, adults and staff members were on hand to provide a safe and exciting carnival atmosphere for all who attended.
The evening's free events included a variety of carnival games with Halloween themes held in various locations throughout the 62 Allen St. facility. Candy or a small prize was awarded at each game. Other activities included Halloween cookie decorating and face painting. Drawings were held throughout the night for the pumpkins and guessing games for painted pumpkins were also conducted.
All Boys & Girls Club youth activities are funded in part by the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County.
