Sacred Heart Parishioners Recognized With St. Joseph Award

Louis and Christine Rieg, parishioners of Sacred Heart Church, Lakewood, received the St. Joseph the Worker Award recently from Bishop Edward Kmiec in St. Joseph's Cathedral, Buffalo for their work at Sacred Heart.

Rieg has been a lector for more than 20 years and Mrs. Rieg has been a choir member. They also help with coordinating and cooking for the parish picnic, dinners on movie nights and have been chairpersons for spaghetti and tureen dinners.

Also receiving this award was Emily Sechriest of our Lady of the Snows Church, Panama. Ms. Sechriest been the church organist and choir director at the church and has been a member of the altar and Rosary Society for 30 years. She also continues to make peanut brittle for all the Christmas bake sales.
