Mary Lou Henry died Nov. 12, 2012, at Assisted Living at Rosebrook in Sarver, Pa., where she had lived for the past four years.
Mary Lou was born March 13, 1920, to William and Marie O'Brien in Butler Pa., where she grew up and attended school. She then graduated from Grove City College with a degree in education, specializing in business. After accepting an initial position in Cambridge Springs, Pa., she went on to teach at a variety of schools both in Pennsylvania and New York, before retiring from the Youngsville, Pa. school district where she had spent many enjoyable years.
Mary Lou was a dedicated and devoted teacher, and many of her students have commented to family members over the years about her positive influence.

She met her husband Frank in Meadville, Pa., on a blind date on Valentine's Day shortly following World War II. They married, and moved to Clymer, N.Y., where he had accepted a position teaching math and science.
They initially thought this would be a temporary move to a peaceful rural area following Frank's experience of war in Europe, but they liked Clymer very much and wound up becoming lifelong residents of the town.
Mary Lou immensely enjoyed playing bridge, and was an active participant in many clubs and groups throughout her life, playing her last time only days be-fore her death. Though not as dedicated as her hus-band, Mary Lou also enjoyed golf and they were active members of the Corry Country Club for several decades, greatly valuing the friends and social life they developed there. She was also an avid reader who was hard to keep stocked with the latest best sellers, and was for many years on the board of the library. She was a member of and consistently worshiped at St. Matthias in French Creek, to which she donat-ed a new organ as a memorial to her husband upon his demise in 2005.
The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff of Rosebrook who pro-vided such excellent, loving care to Mary Lou in her final years. Also to her many friends in the Clymer area who watched over and assisted her in the later years when she lived alone.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruth; her husband, Frank; and her beloved son, Warren.
She is survived by her son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Deirdre, of Sarver, Pa.
A funeral Mass will be held for Mary Louise at Christ Our Hope, St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, French Creek, N.Y., on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Fa-ther John Trela, celebrant, with burial to follow im-mediately after at St. Matthias Cemetery.
Friends will be received Friday morning at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, from 9-10:30 a.m.
