LAKEWOOD - Members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakewood recently put together a cookbook "Hometown Favorites' cookbook printed by Morris Press Cookbooks in Kearney, Neb.
Members of the church, their extended family and friends from as far away as California compiled 276 recipes. The cookbook has eight sections including appetizers, main dishes, desserts and even three recipes for dog treats. All of the recipes include the contributor's name. There are also dozens of ''in memory of" recipes. Several entries also include the name of the contributor's business. The book also includes 24 additional pages of cooking tips, explanations of many different herbs and spices and suggestions for fixing a recipe when there is a cooking mistake.
The books are available for $10 and are available at the church from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 16 and on Sundays from 9 to 11:15 a.m. in Judith Hall. Books can be reserved by calling Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 763-8979.
