Holiday On The Hill Gift Show To Be Held Friday

November 14, 2012
The Post-Journal

The Holiday on the Hill gift show will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Girl Scouts Council Office, 2661 Horton Road, Jamestown.

The show is a boutique-style fine arts and crafts show. For the first four years, the show was sponsored by the Girl Scouts, but is now organized and run by a small volunteer committee. The group rents the building on Horton Hill and provides most of the display pieces and all other necessities for the event. Each year, after taking care of expenses, the committee donates the proceeds to a local not-for-profit organization.

This year, the group is making a donation to Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA volunteers are there as advocates for children who are within the court system. All CASA volunteers are trained in courtroom procedures, social services, the juvenile justice system and the special needs of abused and neglected children. The organization is always looking for new volunteers from all cultures, professions and ethnic and educational backgrounds. For more information, visit casaofchautauqua.org.
