Sacred Heart Parish Altar and Rosary Society members will hold a bake sale on Saturday and Sunday following Masses in the church.
Tickets will also be available for a Thanksgiving basket giveaway. The basket includes ingredients to make a Thanksgiving dinner, including a gift card and gifts. The winning ticket will be drawn following the Sunday bake sale.
Mary Hajdu spoke on planning for retirement, Medicare and Medicaid when the group met recently. Members donated items for the Thanksgiving basket giveaway. Discussion was on Christmas parties. The Panama Altar/Rosary Society party will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in Maplehurst Country Club. The Lakewood Women Christmas party will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Diamond Cafe. Reservations are being accepted by calling Carol Blose at 664-0864. Members attending are asked to take a non-perishable food item for donation. All members are invited to attend both events.

The Sacred Heart Parish Altar Rosary Society is a group of active women praying, working and sharing with members of the parish and community. The society supports many activities and charitable functions. Its primary purpose is to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all and to foster the spiritual, financial and charitable well-being of the Parish and those in need.
Meetings, which begin with are held monthly at both Sacred Heart Parish church locations in Lakewood and Panama. Each meeting begins by reciting of the rosary. During the meetings previous minutes are read, old and new business discussed and a program presented.
