BUFFALO - The Jamestown Lakers scored three goals in less than two minutes late in the first period to take control of an 8-0 win over the Cazenovia Chiefs No. 2 in Western New York Amateur Hockey League action Saturday at the Timothy J. Burvid Ice Rink at Cazenovia Park.
Cooper Spielman led the way for the Lakers with two goals and three assists while Will Turner had two goals and two assists, and Trenton Shutters added a goal and three assists. Josh Cooper scored twice and Chase Jones also scored to back the shutout goaltending of Aiden Gibbons.
SQUIRT MIXED DIVISION
Five goals in the last period carried the Jamestown Lakers to a 9-7 decision over the Hamburg Hawks in the Western New York League at Leisure Rink.
Jadon Barron had two goals, and Ryan Schrecengost, Joshua Brown and Thomas Lucks added one in the five-goal third stanza. Lucks, Barron and Tyler Sillanpaa recorded the assists.
Evan Christensen, from Brown, and Brendan Hirliman scored for the Lakers in the first period.
Schrecengost and Barron had goals in the second period for the Lakers while Hamburg tallied four to tie it at 4-4.
Jackson Yost was the goalie for the Lakers.
