FREDERICK, Md. - After getting off to a good start in the first half on Saturday, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team fell apart in the second half and fell to Frederick CC in the Frederick CC Tournament on Saturday.
On the strength of 25 first-half points by Tyreek Jewell and 10 by Davonte Dunham, JCC took a 51-41 halftime lead. However after intermission, Frederick's Markee Mazyck scored all of his 17 points to lead the way to a 61-41 advantage and a 102-82 Frederick win.
Jewell wound up with 38 points for the second time this young season as he hit 14 field goals and 8-of-12 from the foul line for the Jayhawks (1-3).
Dunham finished with a season-high 23 points with 13 points coming after intermission.
Arthur Talley led the hosts with 23 points, Da'Ron Wiseman added, Mazyck 17, Christo Majok 14, Mike Jones 11 and Larry Haley 10 in a well-balanced attack.
There was total of 48 fouls with the Jayhawks having 30. Fouling out were Kenny Stokes, Michael Forrest, Devan Garrett and Sterling.
Frederick was 28-of-41 from the foul line and JCC was 15-of-25.
JCC is next in action at home at 7 p.m., Wednesday when CC Allegheny County comes to town in an NJCAA game.
