The Jamestown YMCA will host a holiday greeting card making workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Participants will have the opportunity to create two special holiday cards by choosing from a selection of designs for Thanksgiving, Hanukah and Christmas. All materials will be provided. A selection of sample cards will be on display during the event.
A 10-year study by researchers at Columbia University Medical Center found that engaging in crafts improved both quality of life and mental functioning. In addition, those participants who were previously experiencing medical issues saw a sharp reduction in depression when engaging in creative endeavors.
