Area investigators are looking for two men who made improper withdrawals from local banks on Monday afternoon.
First Niagara Bank, 417 Spring St., Jamestown, was robbed at 12:16 p.m. Monday. According to Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Dept., a man entered the bank and gave the teller a note saying he had a weapon and demanding cash. He then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a white male, 25- to 30-years old, about 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 160 pounds. He had light brown hair with a redish-blonde goatee. He was wearing wire rim glasses, a black leather coat, black pants, a green button-up shirt and a black Pittsburgh Pirates hat with a black "P" on the front.

"The subject was in the bank for less than a minute and there were other customers there as well," Samuelson said. "We're in the process of interviewing everyone that was there at this time."
A short time later, police received a report of a second robbery taking place at the Falconer branch of Jamestown Savings Bank, located at 210 W. Main St. in Falconer.
According to police, at 2:30 p.m., a black man walked into the bank, handing the teller a note demanding money before fleeing on foot. He was described as wearing a tie, a black leather jacket with fur around the collar and a blue hat. No weapons were displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.
"At this time there is no evidence that would lead us to believe that these two crimes are connected," Samuelson said. "The only factor that links the two is the timing. It is very unusual though to have back to back bank robberies, especially in this area."
Investigators from the Jamestown Police Department are working with the Ellicott Police, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police to solve the crimes.
