November 4, 2012
The Post-Journal

A pavillion for Chautauqua Children's Safety Education Village in Ashville will be inaugurated by its builders, Westfield/Mayville Rotary Club members, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

According to John Hamels, club president; and Ben Spitzer, president-elect, both education village board members, after hearing a presentation by Terri Kindberg, Chautauqua Children's Safety Education Village executive director, that Rotary had no presence there, club member JB Dunn challenged the club to be a part of the village.

By April, plans were under way and many club members pitched in to build the pavillion, which will most likely be used as a place for all to relax and chat after visiting the village buildings.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour of the Safety Village grounds and buildings will be conducted. For more information, contact Ms. Kindberg at 499-8138 or Hamels at 223-0112.
