To the Readers' Forum:
If Michael Bloomberg can ban soft drinks of certain sizes in restaurants, why can't our government place a ban on cigarette smoking in apartment complexes?
]I am so sick and tired of putting out good money to rent a place only to breathe in someone else's toxic smoke. A lot of people may say, "Move then!" I say, why should I have to?
If landlords can advertise "No Pets" they can advertise "No Smoking" in their ads as well. Only exception would be to single-occupancy houses.
Rumor also has it that if certain pets were allowed, such as dogs, in particular pit bulls, insurance rates would be more expensive. Shouldn't this be the same for those who smoke? I could care less if you smoke, but do you have to do it around others, especially kids? I mean, come on think about this. I have enough of my own health prolems. I don't need yours either.
