Season Ends For Jamestown, Clymer And Fredonia

The Red Raiders season came to an end Saturday night at the hands of a 35-20 loss to Orchard Park.

Jamestown took a 14-7 lead over Orchard Park on a 65-yard touchdown pass to begin the second half. Orchard Park responded on 13-yard touchdown run during their next possession to tie the game at 14-14. Orchard Park scored again to take a 20-14 lead but failed on its extra point attempt. In the fourth quarter, after a failed fourth down attempt by Jamestown in Quarker territory, Orchard Park struck again on an 80-yard touchdown run. The Quarkers led 28-14 until Mike Watson picked up a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown to cut the lead to 8. The Red Raiders missed the ensuing extra point attempt. Orchard Park responded to take a 35-20 lead. The two teams were battling in the Section 6 Class AA Championship game at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

In other games: Clymer was defeated by Ellicottville, 34-16; Springville lost to Alden, 42-7; and Cleveland Hill defeated Fredonia, 22-20.
