Elections Office Extends Hours

LITTLE VALLEY - The Cattaraugus County Board of Elections central office in Little Valley will be open from 9 a.m. to noon today to accommodate people who need to apply for an absentee ballot. The last day to apply in person is Monday, when the office will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the board of elections at 938-2400, 938-2401, 938-2402, 938-2403 or 373-8010, exts. 2400-2403.

Dinner Planned

ELLINGTON - The Farman Free Library will host its annual chicken and biscuit Election Day dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Ellington Fire Hall. Dinner will also include salad, squash, peas, home-baked dessert and beverage. The cost is $7.50 for adults; $4, children under age 12; and under age 5, free. Take-out dinners will also be available. For more information, call the library at 287-2945. Proceeds will benefit the library operating fund.

Meatloaf Dinner Set For Tuesday

FALCONER - The Falconer United Methodist Church, 201 N. Work St., Falconer, will host a meatloaf dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday. The dinner will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

Road Re-Opens In Town Of Ellicott

ELLICOTT - County Route 605, Ross Mills Road, between state Route 380 and Gerry-Levant Road in the town of Ellicott is now open.

Salamanca Sets Polling Places

Sue A. Fries and Kevin C. Burleson, Cattaraugus County election commissioners, have set the official polling places for Election Day on Tuesday in the city of Salamanca as follows: Ward 1, Hillview Manor (Recreation Room), 28 Chestnut St.; Ward 2, Hillview Homes Community Center, 69 Iroquois Dr.; Ward 3 site is located at Salamanca Municipal Building courtroom at the rear of the building, 225 Wildwood Ave.; Ward 4 site is located at United Congregational Methodist Church in the basement social hall at the rear of the building, 134 Broad St.; and Ward 5 site is located at Prospect Elementary School, 300 Prospect Ave. All polling sites listed will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. A ballot marking device for disabled voters will be in use at all sites. The voting system includes audio units for blind voters and sip-and-puff units for persons with reduced dexterity. Driver Safety

Programs Set

Driver Safety Programs will be held throughout November in Cattaraugus County. Classes will be held Monday and Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. each day at the Salamanca Senior Center in Salamanca. For more information, call 945-3138. On Thursday, Nov. 29 and Friday, Nov. 30 from 6-9 p.m. each day, classes will be held at East Randolph United Methodist Church. For more information, call 358-2433. The cost for the course is $17 for AARP members and $19 for non-members. Veterans and active-duty military and dependents may take the course for free during November. Drivers of all ages are encouraged to attend and may be eligible for a discount on their insurance.
