Mozart Club Entertained At Sheldon House For Annual Tea

The Philomel Club of Warren, Pa., entertained the Mozart Club of Jamestown at their annual tea at the Sheldon House recently.

Rosalind Hupp, president of the Warren Club, announced the following program:

Mary Beth Whiting, mezzo soprano, accompanied by Joan Eighmey, sang "Heaven Help My Heart" and "Someone Else's Story" from "Chess."

Joan Eighmey played "Rhapsody" Op. 79, No. I by Johannes Brahms; Nancy Palmer played her flute "Claude Bolling Jazz Suite for Flute & Piano."

The finale was a trio by Nancy Palmer, Rosalind Hupp and Mary Beth Whiting accompanied by Joan Eighmey singing "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."

Eleanor Thorsell, president, welcomed the group and recognized the Mozart Club 50 year members: Eleanor (Barry) Franks, JoAnn Johnson, Betty Kelly, Carol Nord, Gladys Peterson and Elaine Smathers. She also thanked Shaan Ballauff for the beautiful fall centerpiece and Kathryn Kotsi, hospitality chair, and her committee for refreshments.

The next meeting will be their Christmas luncheon at the First Presbyterian Church, when the Mozart Chorus will perform under the direction of Merilee Schmidt.
