A Jamestown resident is in custody after Ellicott Police were contacted about an alleged rape.
Matthew S. Myers, 35, of 173 3/4 S. Main St., Jamestown, was charged with third-degree rape after police were notified of incidents that allegedly occurred during the past year. Police later learned that the Myers was a resident within the home for a period of time where the incident occurred and that he allegedly had sexual intercourse with a child less than 17 years old.
Police were able to obtain a warrant for Myers' arrest and he was taken into custody at his home in Jamestown. He was arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
