Emmaline E. Knickerbocker

Emmaline E. Knickerbocker, 83, of the Frewsburg Rest Home, formerly of 11 Lovall Ave., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

She was born April 19, 1929, in Richland Center, Wis., a daughter of the late Charles and Elnora Torgenson Dyke.

She was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School and a member of First Covenant Church and its women's groups.

As a mother she was active in the lives of her children volunteering as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader and was a life member of the PTA. For many years she was a Tupperware representative.

Surviving are five children: Diana (Dan) Melquist of Busti, Judy Rogers of Jamestown, Donna (Rick) Thor of Lakewood, Randall (Charlotte) Knickerbocker of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kim (Ricky) Short of Mancos, Colo.; six grandchildren: Danny and Adam Melquist, John and James Rogers, June Eden and Janice Rogers; two step grandchildren" Rhonda Melquist and Tony Moore; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Doris Schauers of Falconer.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Knickerbocker, whom she married July 3, 1948, and who died April 3, 2004; and a great-granddaughter, Jacova Rogers.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. David B. Larson will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
