Marilyn H. Christian, 86, formerly of 2 Miller Place, Cassadaga, died at 8:38 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Emeritus at Lakewood, 220 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, where she had resided since January 2010.
She was the widow of Louis T. "Ted" Christian, whom she married September 18, 1948, and who died May 22, 2009.
Marilyn was born July 19, 1926, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Orville and Minnie Johnson Holm.

A graduate of Jamestown High School, she graduated from the WCA School of Nursing and did her nursing training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.
As a registered nurse, Marilyn had worked for the late Dr. Albertus Rappole, the American Red Cross and the former Margaret Anthony Nursing Home in Dunkirk. She retired after many years with the Infirmary at the State University College at Fredonia.
Marilyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown and the Vikings IOV Lodge 65.
She will be remembered by many for her bright blue eyes and her big smile.
Surviving are three sons: Douglas (Vickie Thompson) Christian of Cassadaga, David (Michelle) Christian of Bel Alton, Md., and Darrel (Susan) Christian of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Michael Christian, Timothy (Michelle) Christian, Andrew Christian, Brittany (Thomas) Kilbury, Geoffrey Christian and Heather Christian; six great-grandchildren: Skyler, Gavin, Madison and Alexavier Christian, Anderson Christian and Connor Kilbury; and a sister, Janice (Miner) Swanson of Jamestown.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Miller-Stubbendick, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Deacon Cathy Smith, Hospice chaplain, will officiate. Music will be provided by C'itln O'Reilly, music therapist for Hospice Chautauqua County. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Saturday.
