Six contestants were chosen from thousands of auditions submitted to a national pool. The winner will be selected by audience vote and rewarded with $2,000. Swanson was the only contestant selected from the state of New York. He earned his Real Estate License in April of this year and is also a manager at The Italian Fisherman in Bemus Point. Swanson studied music at Jamestown Community College and then transferred to Fredonia State University to pursue his musical interests.

Upon hearing of his selection Swanson said he was humbled and honored to be given this opportunity, he hopes to make the Realtor's of his office and board association proud. His musical selection for Orlando's competition is Jimmy Van Heusen's 1957 song written for Frank Sinatra "Come Fly With Me." The six contestants will compete before the main event starring Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh who will sing selections from their solo careers and their years together with the Eagles.
