LAKEWOOD - For the first time in 10 years, the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association is sending a tennis singles player, Rachel Mole of Frewsburg, and the doubles team, Victoria Van Every and Elizabeth Rowan of Southwestern, to the state tournament on Nov. 3-5 at the Tri-City Tennis Center in Latham.

Mole, a senior, lost her first match of the season after 16 wins in the Section 6 Singles championship at the Lakewood Family YMCA. She lost 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to Alanna Danieu of East Aurora and fell to second place.

The Frewsburg standout had come in as the fourth seed and Danieu was the second seed. The top seed, Brianna Gibbs of Williamsville East, fell to third place.
