Noreen Lynn Bartok, 68, of 123 Greenhurst Village Drive, Jamestown, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 20, 2012), in WCA Hospital, surrounded by her family, and following a courageous battle with cancer.
An area resident since 1978, she was born Aug. 25, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Melvin E. and Norma M. Holstein Roche.
Before her retirement, she was a teacher for the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Preschool in Mayville, N.Y., for 10 years.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading and doing cross stitch projects.
Surviving are a daughter Tami L. Cucinotta of Mayville, N.Y.; two sons: James R. (Melissa) Bartok of Dewittville, N.Y., and Michael J. (Cheri) Bartok of Bemus Point, N.Y.; nine grandchildren: Adam Winne and Christopher Winne, both of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Joshua Bartok and Jordyn Cucinotta, both of Mayville, Alex Bartok, Bethany Gonzalez and Madison Bartok, all of Bemus Point, Meghan Bartok and Allison Bartok, both of Dewittville; two brothers: Raymond Roche of Toledo, Ohio, and Philip Roche of Greenhurst, N.Y.; and a sister, Linda White of Seven Hills, Ohio.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James J. Bartok, whom she married May 22, 1962, and who died June 21, 1996; and her daughter, Jamie D. Bartok, who died Sept. 30, 2008.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. At the request of the deceased, visitation will not be observed.
