Yara Olmo, a Jamestown resident and 2013 Miss Teen New York Petite, will serve as grand marshal of The Resource Center and TRC Foundation "A Tradition of Caring At Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration."
The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, on Third Street, Jamestown.
Yara is a 15-year-old Jamestown High School student. She is a member of the A'Cappella Chorus and a member of the track team, takes opera singing classes at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, and is also a professional model graduating from John Casablanca's in 2008. She will be competing at the USA Petite Pageant National in August 2013.

Parade registration forms are still being accepted. Forms are available online at www.discoverjamestown.com or contact DJDC at 664-2477 to register. Units are encouraged to select any tradition of their families, place of work or organization use to show how they care of each other during the holidays.
The Jamestown Cycle Shop Snowball Drop will take place immediately following Santa Claus' arrival to Tracy Plaza at the end of the parade with the assistance of the Jamestown Fire Department. Hundreds of ping pong balls will be dropped from the top of the ladder truck down into the crowd with special offers from local businesses, organizations, restaurants, retail shops and more. All community businesses, organizations, and event planners to participate in this annual event. Participants can use as many ping-pong balls as they wish. Participation is free.
The parade will end with a fireworks display.
