BUSTI - A Jamestown man is in custody following an investigation into a burglary that occurred earlier this month.

Daniel L. Schroder Jr., 33, of 508 E. Fifth St., Jamestown, was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny Wednesday following an investigation regarding the crime.

According to Sgt. Investigator Paul Gustafson of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, the homeowner had returned home to find that he had been the victim of a burglary. The investigation was started and several individuals were interviewed, ultimately leading investigators to Schroder. Schroder allegedly removed a metal cash box from the home during the burglary. It is also alleged that he damaged a door during his attempt to gain entry to the home.
