Olson, Beaton Key Maple Grove To Boys Soccer Win; Cards Prevail

WEST VALLEY - Erik Olson found the back of the net twice and Riley Beaton delivered a goal and a pair of assists when Maple Grove topped West Valley, 5-0, in Division 3 boys soccer on Tuesday.

Olson opened the scoring with his 13th goal of the season at the 24-minute mark and was assisted by David Meekins before Beaton assisted on scores by Patrick Crossley and Olson at 34 and 37 minutes, respectively, to increase the advantage to 3-0.

Beaton recorded his goal at the 51st minute from Meekins and Nathan Saar got his squad to the winning margin 25 minutes later from Andy Farnham.

Kyle Richardson made four saves in the victory.

The Red Dragons (13-1-1, 10-1-0), finish the regular season on Thursday when they host Chautauqua lake at 7 p.m.

DIVISION 2

CARDS REMAIN RED HOT

SINCLAIRVILLE - Randolph (15-1, 12-0) picked up yet another shutout this season as the Cardinals blanked Cassadaga Valley, 3-0.

Zach Jackson led the way with a goal at the 26th minute before assisting on Mathew Born's tally at the 29th and Taylor Miller's at the 48th minute.

Nick Carpenter made two saves for the victors.

For Cassadaga Valley (1-14, 1-11), Tim Bender was busy in the nets with 28 saves.
