WESTFIELD POLICE

WESTFIELD - Gerald S. Johnson, 40, of Westfield was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation at 9:26 p.m. on Oct. 10. According to police, during an investigation it was found that Johnson had been involved in a physical altercation with a 17-year-old male and struck and choked the male. He was taken into custody on the charges and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail. Johnson will be back in court at a later date.

WESTFIELD - Anthony J. Crouch, 30, of Sherman was taken into custody on a valid warrant for unpaid fines at 5:58 p.m. Saturday. According to police, an officer was on patrol when he allegedly observed a suspicious vehicle parked near the railroad tracks. Upon investigation, it was found that Crouch was in the vehicle and he was taken into custody. Crouch paid the full amount of the fine and was then released.

WESTFIELD - Jonathan Malave, 31, of Rochester was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding at 4:19 p.m. Saturday. He will appear in court at a later date.

WESTFIELD - Joshua M. Winslow, 26, of Westfield was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 11:10 p.m. Friday. According to police, officers were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint after witnesses saw subjects walking through back yards in the area of 40 Spring St. in Westfield. Officers found the subjects in question and subsuquent investigation found Winslow to be in possession of brass/metal knuckles. He was issued an appearance ticket and will be in court at a later date.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

SALAMANCA - Thomas N. Bowersox, 66, of Olean was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and unsafe backing Oct. 5. He was released with an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.

LITTLE VALLEY - Barrington A. Johnson, 36, of Randolph turned himself in to the Cattaraugus County Jail on an arrest warrant at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. According to police, he was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and assault after he allegedly struck his 1-year-old child in the face, leaving bruises. He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

SHERMAN - James J. Spitale, 35, of Sherman was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing at 7 p.m. Monday.

POMFRET - Roger L. Beaujean, 27, of Pomfret was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 28. He was issued an appearance ticket for the charge and is to appear in court at a later date.
