OLEAN - Corey Wefing and Hope Pietrocarlo came up with outstanding times as Maple Grove remained undefeated in boys and girls cross country at 11-0 in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association on Tuesday afternoon.
Wefing toured the 3.1-mile course at Bartlett Country Club in 16:49 as the boys scored 28 points, Olean (9-1) 56 points, Jamestown (9-2) 65 points and Randolph (3-7) 91 points.
John Pannus of Olean was second with a 17:37 followed by Josh Ahlstrom of Maple Grove, Christian Edborg of Jamestown and Hunter Lienhart of Randolph.
Maple Grove also had Matt Nelson seventh, Frank Zuroski eighth and Peter Cala ninth.
Pietrocarlo had one of her better showings this year with a clocking of 19:51 when the Maple Grove girls were near perfection with 17 points, Jamestown (8-3) had 51 points, Olean (2-8) 67 points and Randolph (0-8) incomplete.
Megan Marsh of the Red Dragons was second with a 20:14 while teammates Caroline Benson was third, Taylor Norris fifth and Abby Sirwatka sixth.
Olivia Zabrodsky of Jamestown was fourth.

HETRICK, ELIASON WIN
DUNKIRK - Ryan Hetrick of Southwestern and Holly Eliason of Sherman were the individual winners on the 3.1-mile course at Point Gratiot Park.
Hetrick won the boys race in 17:55 in defeating teammate Jordan Powers by 18 seconds as Southwestern placed second to Gowanda with 50 points. Gowanda captured the close meet with 48 points while Sherman was third with 58 points and Dunkirk had 66 points.
Gowanda's top runner was Johnny Shaw, who was fifth, while Matt Kruszka was ninth and Ben Mysel was 10th.
Javier Soto of Dunkirk placed third, while Ryan Carpenter was fourth, Justin Svetz sixth and Jordan Borland eighth for Sherman.
Eliason took the girls race in 20:33, Rebbeca King was second in 20:43 and Katie Pacy third in 21:59 as Sherman won with 25 points. Gowanda was second with 41 points, followed by Southwestern with 64 points and Dunkirk was incomplete.
Grace Dennis came in ninth and Jurnee Hannold 10th for Sherman.
Emily Kent recorded a sixth-place finish for Southwestern.

SEIDERS LEADY WAY
FREWSBURG - Hannah Seiders and seventh-grader Emma Seiders took first and fifth, respectively, to lead Silver Creek (4-5) to a slim victory.
Hannah Seiders won the three-mile race with a time of 20:40, besting second-place finisher Alyssa Stroud of Allegany-Limestone by 12 seconds.
The Lady Gators (5-5) finished second with 37 points while Frewsburg (6-5), whose top finisher was Shawna Raymond, was third with 50.
In boys action, Eisenhower's Anthony Amroski captured first with a time of 16:50, just a second ahead of freshman Owen Barber of Allegany-Limestone (1-9).
Frewsburg (4-7), led by Jacob Frangione's fourth-place finish, captured the league victory with 21 points. Allegany-Limestone was second with 40 and Silver Creek (0-8) was incomplete.
In the non-league scoring, Eisenhower topped Frewsburg, 29-37.

FREDONIA SWEEPS
FALCONER - Falconer played host to Franklinville and Fredonia on the 3.1-mile course at Breezewood Links and the Hillbillies were the big winners in both boys and girls' action
Fredonia's Jake Brown was the top boys finisher with a time of 17:52, followed by teammates Josh Zoodhue in second and Mike Meredith in third.
Fredonia (5-5) was first in team points with 16, the Golden Falcons (4-7) took second with 51 and Franklinville (1-9) had 69.
The Lady Hillbillies (9-1) also placed first in team points with 19, followed by Falconer (4-6) with 44.
Lauren Reyda took first for Fredonia with a time of 19:15 while Falconer's Kirsten Holmberg was second and Michaela Tramuta from Fredonia was third.
