Hospice Open House To Feature Tanzanian Visitors Tonight

October 9, 2012
The Post-Journal

Hospice Chautauqua County has their palliative care partners from Tanzania visiting them through Oct. 17.

The visitors are staying in the area, learning about the partnership between our palliative care and their palliative care in Karatu, Tanzania. They are here learning about experiences and ideas to take back with them to educate their partners. They are visiting a lot of area organizations including the Robert H. Jackson Center, United Way, Red Cross, WCA, DJDC, the Mayor's Office, and will be visiting with other hospitals and going on visits with Hospice staff, helping take care of our own Chautauqua County community.

The community is invited to an open house tonight at Hospice to learn from the visitors, Dr. Christian Finda and Chaplain John Mayo Safari. They will be speaking on the importance of cultural partnerships within organizations and express the needs within palliative care across the nations. The open house will be held from 5 to 7 at 20 W. Fairmount Ave., in Lakewood. The event will include food and refreshments, along with photos from the Hospice Chautauqua County mission trip to Karatu a little over a year ago.
