Wilson Leads Way In Ellicottville DD Win Over Panama

PANAMA - Backed by the passing of Cameron Wilson, Ellicottville (4-1) moved within a half a game of frontrunning Clymer (5-1) in Class DD football on Saturday afternoon.

Wilson tossed two touchdown passes and ran in another touchdown as the Eagles trimmed Panama (3-3), 35-8, to remain tied for second place with Sherman (4-1).

Wilson hit Taylor Grinols from 20 yards in the first quarter and Jake Rinko from 75 yards in the third. He also ran 63 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter and wound up with 65 yards on three carries.

Gabe Ling plunged a yard in the second stanza to score and Cody Mowery reached the end zone on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Ellicottville.

Panama got on the scoreboard when Eric Shutt was on the receiving end of a 49-yard scoring pass from Sawyer Eggleston in the fourth period. Rob Benson caught a two-point conversion pass from Eggleston.

Phalla Musall led Ellicottville in rushing with 112 yards on 21 carries.

Panama was led by Benson with 84 yards on 13 carries and Stephen Enlow 63 yards on 10 attempts. Defensively, Alec Blose had 21 tackles.
