Salamanca Rolls To Win Over Falconer

SALAMANCA - Tanner John of Salamanca showed why he is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in Section 6.

John tossed for 218 yards on 8-of-14 and ran for 72 yards in six carries while passing for two touchdowns and running for two more as the Warriors (3-1, 5-1) overwhelmed Falconer (1-5), 41-8, in Class C South football.

John ran in the only touchdown from 24 yards in the first period and Evan Harrington booted the extra point.

Joe Hinman snared a 56-yard pass from John and Damian Taylor grabbed a 58-yard pass from John for the Warriors, who have averaged over 50 points in the last three games. John also hit paydirt from 44 yards.

Hinman was John's favorite receiver with five receptions for 102 yards in the win.

Taylor scored on a five-yard run and 20-yard run for the Warriors. He also returned an interception 40 yards.

Falconer, which trailed, 33-0, at halftime, got on the scoreboard on Jake Youngberg's one-yard run and Jimmy Schwab hauled in a conversion pass from Devon Cameron.
