Donald E. Thompson, 80, of Mud Creek Road, Kennedy, passed away Tuesday (Oct, 2, 2012), in his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Clearfield, Pa., the son of Leo Lahive and Lillian Thompson.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1957 to 1961. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Valeo Corpora-tion for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Celoron Legion, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren sports activities.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Mohney Thompson; three sons: Darryl Thomp-son of Jamestown, Darren Thompson of Oklahoma, and Eddie Thompson of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Jenelle Thompson, Darren Thompson, Jesse Thompson and Cheyenne Thompson; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Thomp-son; and a niece, Robin Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
