Westfield Senior Citizens will meet for a potluck and meeting on Thursday. Gladys Hess, Mary Cogliano, Shirley Kolpien and Mamie Criscione, the kitchen committee, will provide desserts. Members attending should take a dish to share and their table service. John Wolfe will be the guest speaker. A nominating committee will be appointed.
The organization celebrated its 54th anniversary with a dinner in the YWCA, catered by Calarco's Restaurant. Darla Augur baked the anniversary cake.
Shirley Kolpien, president, called the meeting to order. Joyce Wainwright, chaplain, read ''God's Golden Treasures'' by Linda C. Grazulis.
Carol Reynolds spoke on the Oct. 9 trip to the Hidden Valley Animal Farm, Vidler's and Made in America store, sponsored by the Westfield Recreation Commission.
Celebrating birthdays were Joyce Wainwright, Ann Cochran, Mary Lou Catania, Amy Gregory, Sylvia Colbey, Betty Reid, Geri Harper, Carlton Stetson, Jack Dean, Nora Alonge, Margaret Gindling, Judy Cash and Al Vestrand. Anniversaries were observed by the Elders, the Vestrands, the Cohrans and the Wakeleys.
Starting with the October meeting, the next six meetings are at noon.
Joyce Wainwright closed the meeting with prayer.
