For generations the The Post-Journal has provided a comprehensive daily report of happenings in the Chautauqua region.
Adding an Apple OS application to ways readers can get their news is the latest step the newspaper has taken to reach readers when and where they want their news. The App joins the printed newspaper and the website post-journal.com as ways you can get your news. All three are unique products, providing both news and special features that are unique to the media.
"The huge popularity of the Apple iPhone and iPad pushed us to develop the app for them first," said Publisher Mike Bird. ''The combined traffic that our website gets from the two devices is far more than from all other mobile devices combined.

All mobile users, including those on Apple devices still will be able to access the newspaper's website using a web browser. Content on the main site, the mobile site located at mobile.post-journal.com and on the new app is updated daily.
Visiting post-journal.com with any device running the Apple OS system will trigger a screen urging readers to download the app. You also can search for "The Post-Journal" in the app store.
Or you may simply scan the QR Code at the bottom of Page 1 or visit www.post-journal.com/iphone to be redirected to the correct site.
With the app, readers can read stories, write comments, search and take polls.
"We are pleased to extend the reach of our award-winning and trusted newspaper to our readers who have long depended on us to let them know what is happening in their community," said Bird. "The addition of the iPhone app gives us yet another way to serve our readers."
