Charles W. Joslyn

Charles W. Joslyn, 64, of Pancake Hill Road, Bemus Point, passed away Tuesday (Oct, 2, 2012), in his home.

A lifelong area resident, he was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Jamestown, the son of the late Donald R. Joslyn Sr. and Margaret Tibbitts Joslyn.

Charlie was a member of the class of 1966 of Maple Grove High School. He was a self-employed contractor, retiring due to ill health.

He was a member of the War Vets Recreation, and enjoyed golfing, deep-sea fishing, cooking and sailing with his special friends: Mark and Kathy Roberts. Charlie was also a Buffalo Bills fan, Buffalo Sabres fan and NASCAR fan.

Surviving are his two children: Ryan Joslyn of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Lisa Joslyn Bowe of Sausalito, Calif.; two brothers: Donald R. (Cynthia) Joslyn II and Richard R. (Linda) Joslyn, both of Jamestown; six nephews: Jody Crissman, Scott (Jennifer) Joslyn, Skipper Joslyn, Jimmy Crissman, Clay Joslyn and Jason Joslyn.

He was preceded in death by his father on April 26, 1997, and mother on May 9, 1998.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Park United Methodist Church, 49 Sinclair Drive, Sinclairville, N.Y. The Rev. James D. Bailey will officiate.

Visitation will not be observed.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to the Fluvanna Fire Hall or Chautauqua County Humane Society.
