Registration For 4-H Begins
FREDONIA - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County's Canadaway 4-H Club will begin its 2012-13 year with registration from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church, 25 Church St., Fredonia. Anyone signing up should bring insurance information. Members participate in projects such as food and nutrition, woodworking, fine arts, ceramics, public speaking and have the opportunity to participate in county programs such as cake decorating and various animal projects. Business meetings are on the second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. There is a $50 enrollment fee that covers the entire year. CLFA To Hold Benefit Saturday
A benefit for Lynn Bundy-Coan will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association in Celoron. Tickets are $7. Lynn Bundy-Coan has been diagnosed with lung and brain cancer and will have to undergo surgery and extensive therapy. Because of the seriousness of her illness, she will not be able to work. Her husband is disabled. The benefit will be a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction benefit. Basket donations or items for the Chinese auction can be made directly to the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association Clubhouse at 9 E. Chadakoin Parkway, Celoron. For more information, call 664-9152.
Creche To Hold Annual Sale
The Creche will hold its annual fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today with a bag sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The sale will be held at First Congregational Church, 316 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. There is on- and off-street parking near the church. The sale presents a wide selection of quality household items, toys, and clothing for the entire family. Christmas items and decorations will also be available. All proceeds benefit Creche's mission of helping children in need and their families in the local community.
Spaghetti Dinner Set For Saturday
MAGNOLIA - The Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The meal includes homemade sauce, salad, garlic bread, cake and beverage. The cost is a donation. Take-out orders will be available. Crafts and baked goods will also be sold.
Time Capsule Event Is Sunday
ELLINGTON - The Ellington Town Picnic Association and the Ellington Town Board will host a reception at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ellington Town Hall. The time capsule in celebration of the 100th Town Picnic held in August will be buried. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Historical Society To Host Speaker
BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series will feature David Coburn on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Colburn will discuss the oral history project that he is spearheading and we'll get to preview some of the video already "in the can." Join us at The Bemus Point Historical Society on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point. The meeting is free and open to the public.
