Falconer Tennis Win Includes Marathon First Doubles Match

MAYVILLE - Falconer (7-5, 6-2) defeated Chautauqua Lake (4-7, 3-5), 4-1, in Division 1 girls tennis on Wednesday.

The highlight was the falconer first doubles team of Rebecca Hartling and Elizabeth Becker defeating Megan Stahlsmith and Charity Ludwig, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), in a match that took 2 hours.

JHS TOPS DUNKIRK

Jamestown (5-7, 5-4) defeated Dunkirk, 4-1, in Division 1.

After a loss at first singles, the Lady Red Raiders won all the other matches in straight sets.

Chole Knapp raised her record to 9-3 at second singles.

SWCS STILL UNBEATEN

Southwestern (14-0, 9-0) remained undefeated with a 5-0 sweep of visiting Gowanda in Division 1.

May Li topped Jessica Sowa in first singles in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0, while Elizabeth Rowan and Victoria Van Every, who have lost just nine games in their last 10 matches, defeated Alayna Swartz and Brittnee Stelley at first doubles, 6-0 and 6-0.
