The Downtown Jamestown Farmers Market will continue through Oct. 26 every Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Foundry Alley next to the Dr. Lillian Vitanza Ney Renaissance Center.
Crippled Fingers will be performing this week during the lunch hour from noon to 1 p.m.
"We have had such a successful season this year," said Tiffani Conti, DJDC special projects manager. "With the sponsorship provided by Univera and the Fresh Connect grant we have been able to implement numerous upgrades and promote the market so much more than we have been able to in the past and we have seen a wonderful return."
The Kids! Eat Local Challenge continues through the end of the market season. Three prizes will be awarded including first place receiving a one-year membership to the Jamestown YMCA, kids cookbook and gardening kit; second place will receive a kids gardening kit and soccer ball; and third place will receive a kids cookbook and kick ball. Entry forms available online at www.discoverjamestown or at the weekly farmers market.
Free parking is available along West Third Street and in the parking lot on the corner of West Second and Washington streets. Enter the parking lot via Foundry Alley where the market operates.
Fresh Connect bonus coupons are still available to those customers using EBT. For every $5 spent using EBT, the customer will receive a free $2 coupon to purchase additional produce.
