Frewsburg Tennis Team Wins Again

FALCONER - Frewsburg took all but one match and continued its season-long roll with a 4-1 victory over host Falconer in Division 2 girls tennis on Monday.

Once again, Rachel Mole was a first-singles winner for the Bears (8-0, 10-1) over Carolyn Becker, 6-2, 6-0.

For the Lady Golden Falcons (4-2, 6-5), Emma Black gave her team its only win of the day in a 2-hour battle with Rosemarie Mole, winning 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.

Senior Night seemed to inspire the Jamestown as the Lady Red Raiders (4-4, 4-7) posted a 5-0 sweep over Olean (3-6) in Division 1.

Abby Wisner gave Jamestown a 6-3, 6-3 first-singles win over Laura Anderson, 6-3, 6-3 and in first doubles, Morgan Deppas and Olivia Valone outlasted Ally Rebus and Mary Pezzementi, 6-2, 7-6, 8-6.

SWCS STILL UNBEATEN

Undefeated host Southwestern improved on its Division 1 record to 8-0 and 13-0 overall with a 5-0 win over Dunkirk.

May Li and Heidi Mueller earned forfeit wins as Dunkirk was shorthanded at first and second singles. Third singles Morgan Johnson recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jos Szwejbka.

Elizabeth Rowan and Victoria Van Every in first doubles and Leigh Yartz and Daisie Bancroft in second doubles had 6-0 scores in each game.
