FREWSBURG - John Shaffer, District 20N governor, was guest at the recent Frewsburg Lions Club meeting held in the community room at Frewsburg Central School.
Shaffer spoke about his initiatives for the year and what the Frewsburg Lions can do on the local level. He suggested the club become more involved in district activities. He was introduced by Ann Akin, District 5 chairperson.
Gary Wells, Frewsburg Lions president, presided at the business meeting. Marty Hunt reminded members of the upcoming chicken and biscuit dinner on Nov. 17. Pat Harvey has taken more can tabs to the WCA Hospital Dialysis Unit. A total of 925 pounds has been sent by the club since the onset of this project. Forest De Warn reported that 121 pairs of eyeglasses were shipped for recycling in July while $90 from mint sales was reported by John Gatgen. Gatgen will also chair the Krispy Cremes fundraiser in October.
