The Post-Journal

The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will hold their annual flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 9.

The seniors will meet for a hobo dinner at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the Busti Fire Hall. The cost is $3 per person. Members attending the meeting should take their knitted and crocheted items.

Payment is due for the Nov. 27 cabaret show in Rochester; contact Helen Johnson.

Theresa Perrin, president, opened a recent meeting, followed by prayer, the flag salute and song. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were read and approved. Richard Anderson stated that a thank you note from a military base in Germany had been received for coupons that have been sent. He stated that a total of 87 boxes of coupons have been sent. The seniors are still collecting coupons, which should be separated into two groups, one for food and one for non-food items.

Marge Allesi received a life membership card.

Cecile Wilson, Richard Anderson, Donna Heigi and Ms. Perrin are on the committee to elect new officers. A committee was also formed to update bylaws. Members are Dorothy Nelson and Nancy Miller.

Discussion was on program ideas and soup and sandwich lunches during January, February and March.

Future events include a spaghetti dinner beginning at 4 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Emeritus, benefiting the Jamestown seniors. A free sock hop will also be held at Emeritus at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Robert and Donnell Wiltsie celebrated their wedding anniversary.

Ms. Miller gave the thought for the day. The meeting closed with benediction.
