The thought was to give words of encouragement to those in need. A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.
Thirty-four members weighed in on Aug. 23, and a chapter loss of more than 23 pounds was recorded. Best losers were Stacy Hyland, TOPS, who also received free dues, and Jeanne Churchill, TOPS. Prize winner was Ann Kroon, punch card. Discussion was on the fall rally.
The thought was that it is not that some people have willpower and some don't; it's that some people are ready to change and some are not.

Ms. Kroon and Donna Borst received inspiration roses. Julie Davis won the angel contest; Ms. Williams, the monthly raffle and Ms. Linza, the worker's raffle.

The thought was that going on a diet to resolve overeating is like burning your house to get rid of termites.

The thought was that it is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which more than anything else will affect it as a successful outcome.
A weight loss total of more than 14 pounds was recorded when 26 members weighed in on Sept. 20. Best losers were Denise Evinczek, TOPS and Diane Anderson, KOPS. Darrylin Sperry received free dues. Mary Dooley was a prize winner. Steve Crawford and Ms. Sperry were punch card winners. Ms. Dooley and Janice Eckberg were recognized as new KOPS members.
The thought was that a bad habit never disappears miraculously. It's an undo-it-yourself project. Best losers on Sept. 27 were Imogene Truax, TOPS, and Diane Anderson, KOPS. Cathy Bossler, Ms. Linza and Ms. Sperry were prize winners. Contest winners were Linda Vaughn, punch card; Julie Davis, TOPS inspiration rose and worker's raffle; and Jeanne Anderson, monthly raffle. Ms. Linza presented the program.
