September 29, 2012
The Post-Journal

Alfio Cantali, 81, of 37 Maple St., Jamestown, died Thursday (Sept. 27, 2012) at his residence. He was born in Bronte, Sicily, on Sept. 8, 1931, the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Cantali.

Alfio was employed in proto type production at the former Blackstone Corp. and Valeo for 35 years. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the Marco Polo Club and the Moose Lodge #1681.

Alfio will be remembered as a hardworking man that married his devoted wife, Josephine in Italy and came to America to raise their family. He taught himself to read and write English so that he could provide his family with as many opportunities as were available. He took great pride in his three sons and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to share a story about their accomplishments. He enjoyed sharing stories about growing up in Italy and his career in machine shops. He loved to dance, entertain and keep up on news and current events. He was always equipped for a political debate.
