Richard E. "Rick" Nelson, 68, of 58 High Acres, Bemus Point, died Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012, in WCA Hospital.
A native of Buffalo, he was born July 31, 1944, a son of the late Robert and Catherine Powers Nelson.
He earned an associate degree in accounting from Bryant and Stratton Col-lege.

Rick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1963-67.
He was employed by Herbert F. Darling Con-struction in Buffalo as a construction worker. He also worked as a book-keeper for various companies in the Buffalo area.
He was past president of the High Acres Mobile Home Owners Association. He will be remembered as a skilled woodworker who was always willing to help anyone.
Surviving are his wife the former Mary "Ginny" Collins, whom he married May 24, 1966; two daughters: Connie Nelson of Cheektowaga and Annie Nelson of South Buffalo; a granddaughter, Alicia Coleman of Bemus Point; and a son-in-law, Sam Juli-an of South Buffalo.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Nelson, and a sister, Carol Hehir.
Rick enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, loved going to his grand-daughters sporting events, and coached one of her soccer teams. Rick will be sadly missed, always loved and never forgotten.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
