John D. “Jack” Martin Sr.

John D. "Jack" Martin Sr. 91, of Father Baker Manor, Orchard Park, N.Y., former-ly of 33 Hunt Road, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Friday (Sept. 28, 2012) at his residence.

He was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Salamanca, N.Y., a son of the late David Herbert and Pauline Childers Martin.

Jack was a graduate of Jamestown High School and while living in Jamestown was a former member of the First Covenant Church.

Before his retirement at age 65, he was employed as a salesman with many Buf-falo firms including International Salt Company, Framer & Son Food Brokers and Kleinhan's Men's Clothing Store. Following his retirement, he was em-ployed by the Jim Ball Car Dealership in Orchard Park, N.Y. for 20 years until age 85.

Surviving are a daughter Cheryl Dennison of Cumming, Ga.; four grandchildren: Michael Dennison of Brentwood, Tenn., Linda Vunconnon of Mamers, N.C., Mark Dennison of Warren, Pa., and Janice Torres of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three great-gran-dchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice "Bunny" Danielson, whom he married Aug. 8, 1943, and who died Dec. 6, 2002; a son, John D. Martin Jr.; a daughter, Kimberly Janice Martin; a brother, Duane Martin; three sisters: Pauli-na Shannon, Betty Crate and Gloria Martin; and his son-in-law, Michael Dennison.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Mr. David B. Larson, re-tired director of visitation for First Covenant Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
