OTTO - Maria E. Johnson, 79, of Dake Hill Road, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at her home.
She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Gowanda, N.Y., the daughter of the late Ho-ward and Bernice (Strickland) Taft.
Mrs. Johnson was married to Richard Johnson, who survives.
She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses in Springville, N.Y.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons: Douglas (Betty) Johnson of Cattaraugus, N.Y., Brian Johnson of East Otto, N.Y., and Charles (Kammie) Johnson of Perrysburg, N.Y.; and three daughters; Joanne Johnson of Napoli, N.Y., Brenda Johnson of Cattaraugus, N.Y., and Bonnie (Charles) Fanning of Springville, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Floyd) Lamb of Gowanda, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Cecil Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Val-ley.
