Ellicottville Hands Sherman First Loss Of Season, 34-21

ELLICOTTVILLE - Sophomore Phalla Musall of Ellicottville recorded a career high in rushing in handing Sherman its first loss of the football season in Class DD football Friday night.

Musall rushed for 239 yards in 21 carries and scored four times as the Eagles (3-1, 3-2) downed Sherman, 34-21, to move into a first-place tie.

Musall scored on runs of distances of 5, 61, 20, and one yard for the Eagles. He also ran in a pair of conversion runs.

Storm Wilson accounted for the other Ellicottville teedee on a 25-yard run on fourth and four with seven minutes left for the Eagles.

Devin Moorehead of Sherman (3-1, 4-1) tallied twice on four-yard and one-yard runs en route to 158 yards in 24 attempts.

The other touchdown was a one-yard run by Andrew Graham.

Defensively, Elliottville was led by middle linebacker Greg Knier with 12 tackles and corner back Peter Gabel with two interceptions.
